ABOUT US
The Association of Private Practising Surveyors of Nigeria (APPSN) is the largest specialized subgroup of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS). It serves as the umbrella body for registered surveyors engaged in private practice across Nigeria and is committed to promoting professionalism, ethical standards, capacity building, and the advancement of surveying practice in the country.
Membership of the Association cuts across the various categories of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, including Fellows, Full Members, and Associate Members, all united by a common commitment to excellence in professional surveying practice.
The Ekiti State Branch of APPSN was established in 2008 through the pioneering efforts of the late Surveyor M. O. Ojo and Odunayo B. T. as the secretary , who laid a solid foundation for the growth and development of the Association within the state. At inception, the branch had a membership strength of about twelve registered surveyors.
Over the years, the branch has experienced remarkable growth and consolidation under the leadership of distinguished professionals who have served as Chairmen of the Association. These include the late Surveyor M. O. Ojo, the late Surveyor S. O. Bejide, the late Surveyor M. S. Oni, Surveyor S. S. Afolayan, Surveyor O. M. Andero (Mrs.), and the current Chairman, Surveyor D. S. Animasahun.
Through the dedication, vision, and commitment of these leaders and members, the branch has continued to advance the interests of private practising surveyors in Ekiti State while contributing significantly to the growth of the surveying profession. From its humble beginning of twelve members, the branch has grown steadily to a membership strength of fifty-three registered surveyors.
Today, APPSN Ekiti State Branch remains a vibrant professional body, fostering collaboration among practitioners, upholding professional ethics, promoting continuous professional development, and supporting initiatives that enhance the practice of surveying for the benefit of society and national development.
